Chasing a $650 appraisal fee by text message
Send the borrower a pay link for the exact fee, against the exact loan file. They tap it, it's paid, and it's on the file — not a note in somebody's phone.
Your origination fees settle at the closing table. The appraisal and the credit report do not — those come out of a borrower's pocket weeks earlier, and most lenders chase them by text. QuixChex takes them properly and keeps the whole pipeline in one place.
Why mortgage lending is different
Send the borrower a pay link for the exact fee, against the exact loan file. They tap it, it's paid, and it's on the file — not a note in somebody's phone.
Application, processing, underwriting, conditional approval, clear to close. Every file sits in a stage, with the conditions still outstanding written on it, so a status call takes ten seconds.
Every fee taken is recorded against the borrower and the loan number, with the processor's own reference on it. What you collected in a month is a report, not an afternoon.

How a job runs
A loan officer takes an application and orders the appraisal. QuixChex sends the borrower a link for the appraisal fee, takes the card, and puts the payment on that loan file. The file moves through processing and underwriting with its conditions listed, and when it funds, everything collected against it is already reconciled.
QuixChex reads card activity straight off Winston POS, settles through iStream and Global Payments, and is backed by Port City Processing LLC. Whatever you already run on the counter and in the back office keeps running — QuixChex fits around it.
FAQ
No, and it shouldn't. Those are disclosed on the Loan Estimate and settle at closing through the title company, netted from proceeds. QuixChex handles the fees a borrower pays you directly and early — the appraisal, the credit report, an application fee, a lock extension.
No. It doesn't run AUS, produce disclosures or talk to an investor. It handles the money and the pipeline view alongside whatever LOS you already run.
That stays your call, and your compliance team's. Beyond a credit report fee, a lender generally can't collect until the borrower has the Loan Estimate and has given intent to proceed. QuixChex will take a fee whenever you raise it — it does not decide when you're allowed to.
Yes. Loan officers are on the account as staff, and files are theirs. Fees collected report by file and by month.
